After we got breakfast made and everyone fed, we headed to town to get fitted for boots and skis. Then we took the kids out to the first run we saw and skied until it was time for their afternoon lessons. This gave us adults a little time to ourselves.
The boys instructor was an old man named Big Mike. He was the cutest skiing grandpa ever! He was very hard of hearing and kept calling Dawson 'Carson', but other than that, lessons were a huge hit! The boys really wanted ole' Big Mike to take them out the next day. He took the boys to the other side of the mountain and through a secret trail in the woods. The trail led to a giant haunted teepee claimed to have been built by the Indians- the boys thought this was so cool! In fact, the next day, they could hardly wait to take us to the haunted teepee, themselves!
We used every minute of time we had before lessons, and didn't end up having time to feed the kids properly, so they had soda and candy bars for lunch- they didn't complain!
Once the kids were off to their lessons, we headed to the top of the mountain where we had a quick bite and made full use of our two hour 'no kid' time slot.
After a full day of skiing, we headed home to let our legs rest and unbundle before dinner at the country club. While we did this, our sweet little deer came back to have a bedtime snack of puffy Cheetos. The boys didn't even take time to get dressed, they just ran out in their long johns and fed as many deer as they could...
Time in the mountains is just so good for the soul. It is a kind of beautiful I think everyone should experience at least once a year!

Love these pictures! What a great first day you all had. I'm pretty sure that no one will report y'all to the lunch police for serving such an unhealthy lunch...hehehe
It was so cute to see the "adults gone wild" pics. I can only imagine spending time with the four of you. Next year you are going to have to pack some deer corn. Although they don't seem to mind Cheetos.
I've already decided that in my next life I am going to come back as your child!
Great adventures = great memories! Keep living life to it's fullest.
Love & hugs!
