Spring Break 2019...

Skiing continues to be our Spring Break tradition. We took the boys skiing for the very first time 3 years ago, and it is something they look forward to every spring. This year we put them in an afternoon private lesson so that they could work on improving their form and technique. They get better every year, and I don't think there was a single time that I beat them down the mountain. They are fearless little ski machines!

We took this trip with some of our dearest friends, which made this trip even better. We rented a big Sprinter van so that we could all ride together because there is nothing better than a road trip when everyone is all piled in together! We loaded up a tub full of snacks, threw in pillows, blankets, movies, charged the ipads and all piled in the minute school let out on Friday.

We drove halfway and then finished up the drive Saturday.

After we arrived, the kids immediately got into their ski gear and went out to explore the snowy woods. While they built snowmen, the guys went to the grocery store to stock the kitchen and get dinner. They brought home pizza and garlic knots from a local pizza restaurant that has become a favorite for us all.

A trip to Angel Fire wouldn't be complete without a picture in front of the totem pole...

Every evening, deer come up to see if the kids will have any treats to offer. This time there were tons of deer- at least 15. The kids grabbed packages of Ritz Crackers and had the best time letting the deer eat out of their hands. There was even a little baby deer and although they all really wanted to feed the baby, the momma wouldn't let anyone get close enough.

The next day was our first day of skiing! Stay tuned for the rest of our trip and more mountain fun...
