A Mountain Caribbean Paradise...

Last Thursday morning, we got back home around 3:30 from our own little adult getaway. Micah and I love exploring places we have never been and when looking at all the places we would love to go, we decided on St. Lucia. We have never been this far south and were super excited to visit this Caribbean island.

St. Lucia did not disappoint. It was unlike any other Caribbean island we have visited. The island was covered in mountains, lush green rain forest and volcanic rocks and beaches. It was absolutely breathtaking. I could have taken a million pictures and really did try to capture the beauty of this country, but my pictures cannot do it justice.

The waters were so deep and so instead of the see-through turquoise waters, it was a deep, jewel tone teal. The waters were deep right off the shores, the brown sugar sand was speckled with black volcanic rocks and the rain came every single day. We saw lots of little lizards, colorful Hibiscus and tropical flowers were everywhere you looked and the leaves were so perfectly green that you had to touch them just to make sure they were real.

Upon arrival, we headed over to the helicopter pad where we took a quick little 15 minute flight over to our resort. Because there are so many mountains and the roads have to wind through them, it takes a long time to get anywhere. The helicopter ride allowed us to skip out on a 2 hour drive to the resort!

When we got to the resort, we got settled in our rooms, toasted with champange and a Piton, explored and then later got ready for an Italian dinner followed by an evening at Herbie's Piano Bar.
