Bahamas Day 1...

We started our first full day off with something for me... pictures!! This really isn't something any of us really love, but I always tell Micah if he is willing to do beach pictures, I won't make him do them any other time of the year! I have learned this has to be done early in the trip because we tend to get more and more sun as our trip progresses.

After pictures, we had no plans at all, but beach bumin' it. This is always one of our most favorite days. The boys love getting to have a day to roam the waters with no time constraints. They stick together, swimming as far out as we will let them, always wanting to go just a little bit further. Really, it's Remi who is fearless in this way- Roen just follows along, confidently trusting his big brother. Remi has this deep desire to discover creatures in the depths of the water, to swim down, looking under every crevice, searching in wonder in his happiest of places.

On one side of the beach, were big rocks that made for some pretty fun snorkeling, where the boys spent hours exploring. They went paddle boarding, built sandcastles, played cornhole and loved having a day with no plans, no schedule and permission to soak up all the sun, drink all the fruity drinks and swim themselves pruny. Micah is always the very best waiter, bringing us food and drinks, never complaining, and never making me take turn- he spoils us good! We got a little tropical rainstorm midday, but nothing bad enough to send us to shelter, and later the rain turned into the most beautiful rainbow to end our day!

I will never pretend to be that mom who loves being with her children all the time. In fact, in the day to day, they are usually driving me crazy in one way or the other. BUT, I can honestly say, I savor every minute of traveling with my boys. They have this crazy sense of adventure, a spark of discovery that ignites their little imaginations, where they purposefully soak up these experiences, revel in toeing the line of the unknown, and never backing down to a bold idea. This deep-rooted spirit of exploration is something all four of share, a common thread that has sent us to faraway places that hold my most favorite memories.

What a beautiful place to have the family pictures taken! Gorgeous background for a beautiful family. It’s fun to look back at last year’s and see how much the boys have grown. The picture of them on the paddle board is so good. Except…they look grown!! 😬
Day 1 would be my way of spending the whole week. Of course when you’re adventurous like y’all that would be boring 😂 Enjoyed seeing these….especially the rainbow! Staying tuned ….love y’all bunches! 😘
