Fall Golf...

The boys have been busy this fall playing in weekend golf tournaments! The tour they are currently playing in, are short 9 hole tournaments where both boys are able to have a caddy. This always proves to be a bit tricky because I know very little about golf, making it a hard decision as to which boy will get Micah as caddy and who will get me. 

After the first tournament of Remi starting with Micah, then me taking over with him while Micah went with Roen, we decided we needed a better game plan. All the switching around wasn't good for anyone's golf game! 

We ended up getting in touch with one of the school's varsity golfers and it has been the best decision ever! He is a pretty great golfer and we chose to put him with Roen! He comes over often to play on the golf simulator, challenging the boys to different games and rounds. Him and Roen have spent hours upon hours of practicing where he has gotten to know Roen's strengths and weaknesses as a golfer. Micah still gets a bit antsy about him not getting to be in full control of Roen's course guidance and feels certain he could probably shave several strokes off Roen's game if he was still caddy for him, but overall this has been such an awesome experience for Roen! 

We have played courses all over the area and have had a blast this fall! Remi ended up in a bit of a rut, but last tournament, he finally honed in and hopefully, is back in the swing of things! Roen has some incredibly talented golfers in his age bracket and has been eating up the challenge! So far Remi's best place has been 4th and Roen's has been 3rd! 

Somehow, Roen talked his caddy into matching shirts and Anne has even gotten to follow along! These tournaments are fun, intense, competitive and I love watching the boys sort through, wins, loses, birdies and triples!
