7th Grade Basketball...

Remi's season continues and it really has been so fun to watch this boy play! Roen loves watching as well, while seeing how many hotdogs he can eat and roaming the bleachers, finding friends to keep him company. His need to move, eat and be with friends never seems to stop!

This was Remi's first taste of school sports and I think it was quite a change for us all. Micah got his first taste of being in the bleachers instead of the on the court coaching and Remi ended up on B team, while most all of his best friends were on A team.

It hasn't always been easy to sit back and watch the game unfold, it doesn't alway seem fair to be put on the back burner as a B team player and it definitely hasn't been easy being separated from your friends. But it's also not easy to come home after a grueling day at school, and have enough self discipline to work on your game solo. Remi's time to chose his 'hard' has come, and I think I've always known it would.

Remi loves coming home from school and either working on 3D printing projects,  experimenting in his science lab, studying samples under his microscope, tending to his plants or going out on an adventure. I think he is realizing that earning a spot on A team would mean sacrificing the things he is truly passionate about. This year will either fuel his fire to put in the extra work in his own time, or confirm that sports take a back burner to his self-taught learning and exploring. The thing about Remi is, he won't do it for any other reason than it being what he wants and is willing to commit his time to. It won't be to be with his friends, it won't be because it's what someone else might would encourage and it definitely won't be because he wants to be like everyone else. This boy is unashamedly his own unique little person!

We only have a handful of games left and then it will be on to golf season and Remi's first go at track! I'm just soaking up every minute of this life with my two favorite Wildcats!

We should all have been as focused and driven as Remi in the seventh grade! In my opinion, he is wise beyond his years. It’s so easy to be influenced by friends, family and others at this point in life. I’m proud of you and Micah for not pushing him in the direction either of you would choose. I am excited to see if he enjoys track! As the years clicked by for Kim that became her sport! Go Luck to the Wildcats in their final games of this season. Thanks for the pictures…Remi has a great cheering section 👏🏻👏🏻
Love y’all 😘
