Kraken Basketball...

This is Roen's very last year to be coached by Micah. It has come in a blink and it's hard to wrap my mind around this chapter coming to an end. These years, where Micah has had a heavy hand in pushing, molding and helping make the boys the athletes they are, have been some of my most favorite. 

As we have learned this year with Remi, school sports are a whole new experience, and so, I am savoring every single minute of this season. I love watching Micah on the floor coaching just as much as I love watching Roen play. Micah loves the intensity and fast pace of basketball and has truly had the time of his life coaching the boys. 

Roen is our little bulldog out on the court- sweating buckets, as he dominates defensively and never quits. His little tank never seems to run out and watching him play is a blast! Over the years, Micah has said numerous times that his favorite part of coaching Roen is his coachability. Roen is such a humble little athlete and gives his upmost respect, focus and attention to his coach. It doesn't really matter if he is at home practicing, at team practice or in game time, this boy gives it his all and with the very best attitude! 

I'm not sure what 7th grade basketball will look like for Roen, but I do know, I often find myself wishing Remi would have had just one more year with Micah coaching him. I have realized, not many are willing to put the time into their players like a daddy does.  And so, as a momma who knows what lays ahead for her youngest, I refuse to let this season sneak by. I will intentionally soak up these Saturdays filled with Kraken Basketball, savoring every minute of the way Roen loves being coached by his daddy.
