NTJG Kiowa Tournament...

Our first tournament of the summer is in the books! This is actually our third summer to play with the North Texas Junior Golf tour, and because the tournaments are so laid back, we love them! The first location was right in our backyard, at our home course. This summer, Roen moved up to the 12-14 age bracket, which meant he played 18 holes solo. This was quite a change from 9 holes with daddy as caddy.

Roen's round started out about as rough as it gets and Remi's rounded started out awesome. In fact, through the first 9 holes, Remi was beating Roen. However, the back 9 brought the pressure,  which is where Roen thrives and Remi typically sinks. Roen pulled out some much better golf and Remi lost his momentum.

Overall, Remi came out in 6th and Roen snagged 3rd. Not really the outcome any of us wanted, but that is just the way golf goes. Roen actually tied for 3rd and had to have a putt-off with the two big boys standing next to him. Like I said, Roen thrives on pressure and he won the putt-off, earning him 3rd. It was a fun day on the course with buddies!

Congratulations Remi and Roen!! Off and running, or I guess in golf it’s off and swinging! The game of golf is such a mental thing and easy to get into a struggle with your mind. I’m proud of both boys. They play some really great golf. I’m sure the putt off was fun to watch. Boys.. Keep up the long drives and short putts. Thanks for sharing this first tourney. Love y’all 😘
Oh and I love Micah’s new nickname…caddy daddy or daddy caddy! 😉
