Remi has been working so hard with his bow lately.
He has gradually been working up to pulling enough lbs to take his bow on a deer hunt. After lots of late nights after school, sighting in, creating spreadsheets on his distance and accuracy (because, only Remi would approach bow hunting in a mathematical way, lol) and finally hitting that 45 lb mark, he was ready. Micah and him loaded up one chilly Saturday morning and spent the day out at Illinois Bend. They took a mid-day break at Pop's house where they finally picked up the new deer stand (bought years ago) and got it all set up for their evening hunt.
They never spotted a buck, but they did see some doe- they didn't come quite close enough for Remi to get an accurate shot. But that boy walked in the house that night like he had just had the best day of his life! Remi loves being out in nature and is begging to go out again and again. They may not have brought home the meat this time, but I'll keep you updated!
And in case you can't tell, well, Remi and Pops are two peas in a pod!

This is awesome! Remi is so happy in these pictures. I will agree that he and pops are two peas in a pod! I’m thinking Pops is the one that instructed him on how to drive his little gator back in the day….throttle wide open!! Lots of great memories made here. ♥️
And where would one begin to even create a spreadsheet for bow hunting?!?! He is his father’s child on this one!! 😉
Thanks for sharing this adventure!! Love y’all 😘
