Barbados Day Three...

This was our fishing day!

This time of year, it was deep sea fishing for barracuda, marlin, wahoo and tuna. Deep sea fishing can be a slow day of reeling in the fish, but the ones you catch are usually way more exciting! This trip, we were especially hoping to catch some barracuda. Most everywhere else, you can't eat barracuda because of metals in the reef. However, the Carribean around Barbados does not have these toxins in their reef, so it's the one place you can actually eat them! Roen reeled in a wahoo and Remi reeled in a baby bull shark and our highly sought after, barracuda.

After cleaning the fish, our captain and mate threw together what proved to be our favorite meal of the trip. Mouth-watering fish, fresh lime cumbers and potato salad. Never in all our days of fishing has a captain cooked for us- this was such an unexpected treat! Straight from the water and into our bellies, never even leaving the deep sea!

Once we made it back to land, the boys wanted to check out the pool before heading out to the beach. Remi caught a crab on our way back to the room which completed his day of 'catching' perfectly. We ordered room service and ended the day with ice cream on the couch!

What a fun day! The boys are quite the deep sea fishermen. That baby bull shark was a little too close for comfort! 😦 So fitting that Ro landed the wahoo; after all he is the wahoo king!! 😉 The food looks delicious. You’re going to have to tell me about the potato salad. Always looking for a new recipe. The pictures are always amazing. The one of Remi buried in the sand…talk about “up to your neck”! Thanks for sharing! It was a great day! Love y’all 😘
