Our living room is very cozy (AKA small) and we only have the one. I remember being a bit worried about it's size when the framing started, but it works perfectly for our family so far. With the playroom and mancave (that is almost finished) we really felt one living room was sufficient for the house. The kitchen looks directly into the living room over the bar and there are two hallways on either side of the TV that lead to the master bedroom/powderroom and the boy's bedrooms.
There was so much white in other parts of the house, that I went with some darker colors to balance it out... plus my kids and light furniture don't really go together :)
Here is our quaint little entryway. The built-in makes this one of my favorite little nooks in the house...
I really debated on weather to show this room at all. There is so much that I want to do with this room, but it will just take time (and money). The one big purchase I made for this room ended up in my dinning room (the artpiece), so the walls are bare. The floor to ceiling bookcase is coming along but still a bit bare as well. Here are a couple of pictures of the furniture and bookcase to give a glimpse of where this room is headed. My hopes are to find another big piece of art that I love to really get this room going... but original art is not cheap or always easy to find.
That's all for now.... have a wonderful weekend and I'll kick off next week with some birthday pictures from Remi's 5th Birthday and more house pictures!
