I ended my Summer with some amazing books. I got this sweet little collection a while ago when I fell in love with the art on the covers. I had already read two of these books in my childhood, but re-read them because it had been so long. I am sure most of you have read at least one of these books- probably Little Women. I read Little Women in the 8th grade and Anne of Green Gables at an even younger age. But I honestly couldn't really remember much of either of them.
I think EVERY girl (big or small) should read these books... go buy this exact set! They are not only absolutely stunning but... oh, they are such a breath of fresh air. They are so very inspiring in the most innocent, simplistic way. They seem to cleanse the mind of all indecencies and take you back to daydreaming at grandma's house. I LOVED every single one of these books and think every girl needs this set of books setting on her dresser!
I think my favorite had to be Anne of Green Gables. I literally laughed through the whole book. I just love sweet Anne! It really is hard to say favorite though, because they all really tied for me. I guess Anne just has a special little place in my book heart :) Anne inspired me to always try. She never was perfect, but she always tried her very best with a good heart!
The Little Princess inspired me to be content and practice tact in everything life throws my way. The Little Princess was such a sweet, little composed girl in the face of good times and bad!
Little Women for me, was about the importance of family... especially a mother's love. Respecting our parents should always be number one. When we do that, everything else seems to fall into place. These sweet 'little women' learned from their mother and always went back to her for advice and counsel... I sometimes think our modern times have lost this important quality.
And, Heidi was a girl that put everyone before herself. Taking pleasure in the beauty God surrounds us with and learning to help others on daily basis is truly what this book came down to for me. This sweet little orphan girl definitely reaped the benefits of all her good deeds in the end!

Anne of Green Gables has always been one of my favorites that I re-read from time to time. The 2nd and 3rd books are good too :)
Sounds like a good way to end summer. Were these the original covers on the books? It's been a very long time since I read Little Women, but I don't remember the cover bring this colorful. The whole set is very pretty!!
