12 Years...

On May 20th, Micah and I celebrated our 12 year anniversary. We spent the evening in Fort Worth where we went to dinner followed by a little two-stepping in the stockyards. We woke up the next morning and had brunch at Joe T's. It was a pretty perfect anniversary!

12 years has come pretty fast, although it really doesn't seem long enough- as if life didn't really began until I got married.

Micah and I have been through so many stages of life together and I think they have all been pretty special for different reasons. Right now, we are getting to parent a 7 and 8 year old together. When I married Micah, I wasn't really thinking about how we would parent together... there is no way I could have understood how it would be. But now that I am smack dab in the middle of it all, there is not a single day that goes by that I don't know how blessed I am to get to do this with Micah. Not only is he my perfect balance, but he is just a good dad- plain and simple. And the crazy thing is, as good of a dad that he is.... he is an even more amazing husband. He takes care of me first. The boys see it and they know it. They see him love me, they see him hug me, they see him sing my praises daily and it is the most amazing feeling knowing that the example they have to follow will lead them to be great men and daddies themselves one day.

Right now our marriage is deeply intertwined with busy days revolving around our boys. But we both love it and in between it all, he finds time for just me. I am not sure how he does it all, but the day I took his name, marks the day I made the best decision of my life.

Every single night, I pray that we get many more years to grow old with each other... and I mean that with all my heart.

May God bless you both with many more years of happiness! You two have kindred souls, a deep love of the Lord, and a drive to keep your commitment to each other. Certainly something to celebrate. Keep growing old together 😘
