Oh, how we love the annual DCC Junior Golf Tournament! This course is one the boys are very familiar with and they love getting to compete with some of their best golf buddies! This year, Remi and Roen were in the same age bracket and so competed against each other.
I was caddy for Remi both days and Micah went with Roen. After day one, Roen sat in 1st and Remi was in 2nd. It was close and as always, the pressure was on for Sunday, day 2. The second day of golf tournaments tends to be a make it or break it scenario. All the boys were within several strokes of each other, so the W was up for the taking!
On day 2, Roen came in like a beast, playing his best golf to date. His round included 6 birdies and his all-time, best personal score of 72- just one stroke short of even par. He defended his title, coming home with the gold, for the second year in a row. Remi held on to his nerves fairly well, but ended his day in 3rd. I was proud of both of the boys and truly love watching them out on the course!

Wowza! They are both doing so good! Roen seems to check his nerves at the curb and gets into his game. Not that Remi isn’t focused , he’s like most of us and the nerves get to us a little bit. I am so excited for the boys and extremely proud of their accomplishments. Definitely a proud momma and daddy moment! Congratulations! Boys, keep hitting the long drives and short putts! Love y’all bunches!!
