Saying Good-Bye...

Earlier this month, we said good-bye to our sweet Grandma- Micah's Dad's mother. I have been a part of the Davenport family for over 16 years now, and in this time, I have made many memories with Grandma & Peepaw that I will always treasure.

Grandma had the most wonderful sense of humor. She had a laugh that was full of mischief and joy. She wore pink often, hugged everyone she greeted and had a contagious smile that reminds me a little of my Roen.  She often shared her stories of the good ole days and was truly the best story teller. She was quick to visit with me about raising boys and the challenges of being a boy mom. But of all the wonderful things about Grandma, my most favorite was her fierce love for the Lord. She stood steadfast in her faith and loved nothing more than seeing her family fill the pew.

On the Sundays where I happen show up to church wearing pearls and pink, I will probably think of Grandma. I will smile, thinking of her legacy, of her wish for us all to be close in love for the truth and I will do my very best to add another generation of Davenports, following the path she did, heavenward bound, rooted in the truth and God's love.

You followed that narrow path, Grandma, and that is a legacy I am proud to be a part of.

Such a sweet tribute to an amazing lady! I always enjoyed seeing her at the boys birthday parties when they were younger. My favorite memory of her and Pee-paw was their love for each other. Extraordinary!! I know she will be missed by many. I read this a while back and it is so true…
The ones we say goodbye to are never forgotten, The time we have is never enough, The love we have is never ending!
Love y’all 😘
