Spring Break 2024...

Spring Break 2024 was a quaint little slice of southern charm!

For our crew, Spring Break is for golfing! We of course, do our best to find destinations that give the opportunity for new and unique activities as well, but beautiful fairways are our favorite way to kick off spring.

We hemhawed around, and ended up booking this trip very last minute. In fact, I still can't believe we were able to snag rooms and tee times. There are several areas of Sea Island that you can stay, but we chose The Lodge, where the cottages are right off the practice greens and packed with southern charm. Each cottage welcomes you with beautiful porches, complete with porch swings and a view of the ocean that backdrops the pristine practice area. The ceilings and walls are covered in white shiplap, the windows are cased in craftsman style trim work and even the TVs are hidden behind accordion style artwork. This trip to the Deep South was nothing short of coastal luxury!

Our first day greeted us with a good ole springtime soaking. We were out the door by 4:30 that morning, catching the earliest flight, in hopes of making to Sea Island in time to catch our afternoon tee time at the Retreat Course. Unfortunately, the course closed, but as luck would have it, our cottage was ready! So, we settled in, had ample time to explore the grounds and I even got to grab one of their famous southern style pimento cheese sandwiches with a mimosa! We paid a visit to their massive pro shop where the boys found everything they didn't need from belts, to head covers, to cologne.

The boys obliged my request to do a bit of porch sitting where I could enjoy my snack and watch the sunset over the water. We may not have gotten to hit up the course as planned but I will never complain about an opportunity to unwind with some sipping and porch sitting!

We finished off our day with dinner in the English-style Oak Room, where we ordered cheese grits, used our best manners and filled up on comfort food while unplugging with our favorite peeps.
