Barbados Day One...

I woke up the next morning not quite believing where we were! I started my morning my favorite way- hot tea (out of a tiny gold and pink cup & saucer) and a (really) good book before having to wake the boys up. What is it about waking up before everyone else that just feels so good!?

On day one, we hit the ground running with a day out on the sea! After breakfast, the SeaDuced crew met us on our resort beach in a cute, little motorboat and then welcomed us aboard with fruit, banana bread, rum punch, local beer, and some serious hospitality! They had the island music cranked up and were literally at our beck-and-call, our wish, their command.

Drinks in hand, we all headed to the front of the boat where we found spots to soak up the sun while we set sail in search of the Hawksbills. I have had the opportunity to interact with some pretty incredible creatures in our years of travel,  but these endangered sea turtles were absolutely breathtaking and without a doubt one of my favorites. Their massive shells were almost majestic, covered in intricate patterns that glimmered with the reflecting sun from above.  They were gentle and seemed to be quite curious as they got up close and personal, swimming under our bellies, brushing our feet with their flippers and letting us run our hands over their shells as they swam by. It was nothing short of magical and I wanted no part of saying goodbye.

After bidding farewell to our new salt water friends, we loaded up and headed over to quiet little bay for some swimming and sea bobbing. As the boys spent the afternoon zooming and bobbing about, Micah and I lounged in the SunChill, sipping, relaxing and soaking it all up. During this time, our chef was busy on board preparing lunch, which turned out to be one of the best meals of the trip! Lobster, shrimp, steak, rice, veggies and a cheesecake/brownie ending... it was delicious! I always appreciate lunch on the boat, where there is no better seat, no better view!

Once the crew took us back to our beach, we ended the day with more swimming, snorkeling, fruity drinks and sunshine. For dinner, we headed over to local restaurant called Sea Shed- it was everything beach wood, white wash and twinkle lights, and the perfect way to end our first full day in paradise!

What a totally awesome day!! I would have loved a bean bag on the front of the boat!! The Hawksbills are beautiful! Really cool that y’all were able to swim with them and even touch them. Incredible!! I’m not really sure what I would pick as the favorite of this day, but the food on the boat is right at the top. The lobster & shrimp looked amazing and then topped it off with steak…delicious and such a great presentation! All the pictures of the day were so good. I need to know how those back flips turned out for you and Remi? Or did y’all flop? 🤭. From start to finish this looks like a fantastic adventure. Keep these posts coming! Love y’all! 😘
Oh, I have an idea for Micah’s stocking…self tanner 😂😂. In the first picture I thought…is he wearing short socks with his flip-flops? 🤣 Nope!!
