This was the boys 2nd Thunderbird tournament and as I said, we went ahead and moved Roen up to the 15-18 age bracket. This gave him further tees and a full 18 holes to work with. One of his special weapons, is how far he can drive the ball, so the further the tees are, the more advantage he has. Also, 9 holes does not give much room for mistakes. I think it's safe to say, he held his own. He started off better than he finished, but that little toot was still able to pull 2nd place.
I also loved that they put the boys in the same group! This meant I got to watch them both at the same time! However, the boy that started off in their group quit halfway through and once it was just me watching the boys.... well, lets just say they went ahead and acted like a couple of toddlers out there! They both ended the round feeling pretty disappointed. I ended the day feeling pretty irritated over them having bad behavior just because no one else was around to see it. In fact, I almost just went back to the car!
But that's golf, and that's teenage boys!

We also saw all kinds of wildlife... geese, turtles and a snake that slithered over to a shady tree and up its trunk! You would be surprised at how many snakes we actually see on courses! And I always say, seeing a turtle mid-round is good luck! If you can't tell, I love animals, even the creepy crawlers!
And at the very bottom, you will see little ole Roen lined up with all those big boys! This picture cracked me up!

Congratulations Remi & Roen!! I just can’t believe you two acted like toddlers ðĪŠ. Super proud of both of you. Snakes slithering around the course would send me running or rather hopping on the golf cart and getting the heck out of there!! Love the last picture. Guess they found out that dynamite comes in small packages ððŧððŧ. As always…thank you for sharing their game.
